Rapid diagnosis in thyroid tumors by using touch cytology

The study aims to assess the role of imprint cytology in diagnosis thyroid nodules and compare it with paraffin Section lesions. It included 40 patients who visited Private Hospitals Aleppo during period from April December 2021. results indicated that there were 19 cancer, representing 47.5%, whom 14 diagnosed Papillary Carcinoma, a percentage 35%, 5 cases Follicular 12.5%, while remaining 21 Benign Adenomas at rate 52.5%, including 11 Hashimoto’s disease 27.5% 10 Tumors 25%. These compared Paraffin Sections reached sensitivity, specificity, accuracy for this technology, 94.73%, 95.23% 95%, respectively, positive predictive value was negative 95.23%. also technology is fast determining Histologic Grading Tumor Differentiation, but does not determine Histological Type. significant association between gender incidence tumors, no statistical evidence observed age possibility cancers.
